Baghouse Dust Collection Systems
Baghouse or fabric filter dust collectors are application-specific air pollution control devices (APCD) that effectively filter air in heavy industrial manufacturing, process, and energy sector environments to filter particulates of all types. Fabric filtering systems are exceptionally suited to filtering processes where the collected pollutants have high moisture content or the process air is laden with condensable airstream constituents, sticky material and fine to coarse particulate matter.
Baghouses are suitable for applications in plastics, food processing, woodworking, metals processing, mining, power generation and applications where process upsets occur on a regular basis.
Air Dynamics designs, manufactures and applies “Best Available Control Technology” (BACT) including baghouses that meet or exceed demanding air quality and regulatory compliance projects.
Current trends are to select cartridge dust collectors for larger segments of applications because cartridge collectors are compact, have lower acquisition costs and a simpler filter change process.
When compared to cartridge-style dust collectors, bag houses have greater potential for shedding accumulated dust and particulate matter from the outer circumference of the filter.
Baghouse or fabric filters are the workhorse for heavy industry and challenging manufacturing applications because filter media characteristics offer the ability to manage a wider range of particle characteristics, process variables and recovery from process upsets.

For about thirty-five years, our exceptionally talented technical team at Air Dynamics Industrial Systems Corporation delivered turn-key air and particle control solutions. Our hard-earned success is built on proprietary processes to ensure repeatable quality:
- Fifteen Key Design Elements that translate into more than a hundred decision points in the system planning part of the process.
- Visio documented manufacturing process, from complete 3D model to export of revision-locked manufacturing fabrication drawings.
- Material part numbers for each cut, formed and welded part to subassembly.
- Manufacturing Stop and Revision Change Process.
- Subassembly part numbers
- Fastener part numbers
We provide you with a spares breakout based on criticality of the part. We fully support you with needed spares. Our procurement process selects COTS items that make it quick and easy to get your system operational in the case of unexpected part failure.
Air and particles are collected at the purpose designed (ACGIH Recommended Practice) compound hoods at each process point where it is transported via the SMACNA designed ducting system. Dust accumulates on the cylinder-shaped baghouse fabric filters arranged in rows inside the housing. This layering effect creates a cake on the filter surface that also contributes to the filtration efficiency.
Filter cleaning is accomplished using engineered filter cleaning system that is purely driven by math to clean each specific filter, row by row promoting continuous-duty airflow through the system offering on-line cleaning for sustained air pollution control inside the plant.
Features of Our Baghouse Dust Collection Systems
Our dust collectors are durable. They feature fully welded carbon steel construction with bar-stock stiffeners for increased performance in demanding industrial applications.
Baghouse dust collectors can manage high-heat process environments in manufacturing and processing facilities. They are well-suited for heavy dust loads found in any industry, including furniture, textiles, wood/pulp, mining, and all manufacturing.
We purposefully engineer each aspect of the baghouse to exceed performance of designs in the field. Our baghouse offerings meet any specified air and particle control requirement. Standard features include:
- Easy to change top loading filters.
- No confined space entry to change filters.
- High-efficiency direct drive air movers or fans
- Engineered filter cleaning systems.
A low-pressure drop across the unit improves efficiency without compromising filtration effectiveness. Typical new filter startup differential pressure is 0.02” wc. Ideally, the designer would design the system for a startup differential pressure of 0.00 inches of water column, however this is not practical. Lower pressure drops reduce energy consumption and maintenance intervals, which translates to less downtime.
