Case Study 1 This is a case where a milling machine with a high-pressure coolant and heavy roughing cuts that generated steam. The client tried other filter units but the filters could not handle volume of mist & steam was visible pouring out 10ft about unit. Steam carried out the odor. A competitive unit was installed with HEPA to stop the steam, but with HEPA plugged in 4 days, the airflow dropped by 70-80%. We could not see any oil in the 3nine HEPA after a 2-month trial. The steady flow of the coolant was separated.
Case Study 2 This company makes carbide saw blades. The mills and lathes had no mist collection other than a 6" duct extended above. We tested out Lina and we are now installing it on all mills and lathes. A large coolant grinding area exhausted outside at 30,00 CFM which advised us that they must clean air, as well as to make a decision to install AC. We installed Emma on a trial. The plan is to purchase up to 12 Emma's. Oil grinding applications have electrostatic and can be very effective provided they are maintained every 2-3 weeks. The maintenance team would now like 3nine on all new installations.
Case Study 3 This is Lina with a pre-filter to HEPA for high oil applications. It extends HEPA life many times on difficult oil applications, very fine mist and high-speed grinding. In a trial unit, NTN has purchased 6 Lina’s. They had used Brand X, which is very expensive and large central units. We had to install ducts and fire protection. It was noisy (15" WG) and the filters are very expensive. We could tell the oil odors were very high.
